I paint the moments that make me stop and look twice.
Light on water. Flowers in motion. Birds, weather, remembered places; fleeting things I want to hold onto a little longer.
I paint because watercolor lets me hold onto things that keep changing.
I’m drawn to light, weather, flowers, birds, water, and places that stay with me. I love the way watercolor can suggest something without pinning it down completely; blooms, edges, accidents, and layers all become part of the finished piece.
Much of my work begins with a moment I want to keep: a shoreline at a certain hour, a flower turning toward the light, a bird caught in motion, a place remembered more by feeling than by detail. I’m interested in that space between observation and memory, where the painting becomes less about recording exactly what I saw and more about what stayed with me.
My work has been shown in regional art exhibitions and collected privately. In 2026, Hearthlights received a Purchase Award and was selected for the Ocean City Arts Center permanent collection.
