After the Rain was one of the first paintings I made almost entirely from imagination. For years, I kept having these visual dreams about flowers dissolving—my spring bulbs disappearing into the weather, their petals turning into mist. It was actually one of the things that made me want to pick up a paintbrush in the first place.
I'd wake up wanting to hold onto that feeling, but it took years before I had enough skill to paint what I was seeing in my head. I wanted the flowers to be there and not quite there, as though the weather was slowly carrying them away.
It's harder than it looks.
Fine art print from an original watercolor painting. Available in 11×14, 16×20 and 24×30 inches. Prints include a white border and are sold unframed.
