Hearthlights

from $75.00

Hearthlights began with a reference photo of Vågen, the historic harbor in Bergen, Norway. There wasn't really a story behind choosing it. I just loved the little pools of warm light along the waterfront against the dark mountains, water and weather.

I'm drawn to places like this—small bits of light and warmth illuminating a much greater darkness. It's the same thing that has caught my attention in other paintings: a lit window at dusk, reflections on dark water, someplace warm glowing in the distance. I think there's something comforting about it.

The original Hearthlights received a 2026 Purchase Award from the Ocean City Arts Center and was selected for the Center's permanent collection.

Fine art print from an original watercolor painting. Available in 12×18, 16×24 and 20×30 inches. Prints include a white border and are sold unframed.
