Quiet Tide came from a period when I was experimenting with bringing landscapes and florals together. I was starting to enjoy creating a sense of place and atmosphere, then adding flowers in the foreground almost like a frame.
Here, I wanted the sky and water to feel wide open and peaceful, with those happy-go-lucky yellow blossoms gathered along the edge. I think of them as little witnesses to the whole scene, bobbing there while this enormous stretch of sky and water goes on behind them.
Fine art print from an original watercolor painting. Available in 11×14, 16×20 and 24×30 inches. Prints include a white border and are sold unframed.
